is this a joke?
what was the drone doing there? oh I know, acts of war against russia.
>flying over international waters
Yeah, sure, so when are you going to advocate for all Russian aircraft over international waters to be a shooting gallery for everyone?
You both are wrong it was flying in international waters anyone is allowed there. Damaging property is an escalation. Though the west isn’t innocent as the drone would be giving information to Ukraine who Russia is at war with. It’s not a nothing burger. But since no one died it is minor
If sharing military intel with a third party at war was an act of war against the third party's opponent, well, let's just say WW3 would be in history books already. Possibly followed by WW4 and WW5. If there were still new history books at that point.

Maybe he wants the US to knock down a Bear next time it's flying in international airspace near Alaska.

That is the precedent he seems to want to set, after all.

Luckily for him the DoD is saying it happened because the Russian pilots were amateurs.

Yeah, this is where I'd put it. Not nothing, but given it was in international space with no humans inside, it's not a huge deal. It matters, but it's very different than the russians shooting down a plane with Americans in it. Honestly, I don't know if something similar to this has been done before? Maybe damaging a sea fort in International waters? IDK.

So? what was it doing in that specific patch of international water?
Drones don't just fly around doing nothing.
Neither do manned aircraft. The point of international waters/airspace is though that no one needs to justify themselves in being there to anyone nor seek permission to be there. Even bloody North Korea can send ships there, no questions asked.
If Russia wants to try change that custom, well, let's just say their Baltic Fleet would be in big trouble, and that's just a start.

Also, just a reminder that a few months ago usa shot down a chinese drone.
its a drone. nobody cares
Over violation of actual US airspace. That's the difference.

Thing you need to realize here is Marduk is a Chicken Hawk who wants Americans to do the fighting and dying that he and his country are too cowardly to do themselves.

Wow, either you don't understand the difference between national airspace vs international airspace, or you are just purposely ignoring it to cheer on Russia and the CCP.

The Russians did not do something like this during the past year, which means that they really don't want US intelligence assets near the area of active combat right now.
And it is not like they don't have other ways of interfering with drones, like jamming and other EW techniques.

That coupled with the situation in the city that sounds like the name of a relatively shitty fanservice anime probably means we are getting close to the final stretch and/or there will be some major developments soon.

Is that why BASF is moving most of their operations to China?

Logical, given the fact that China, not the USA is their main customer and that the East Asia region is seeing major growth.

The workers are probably better quality than the hordes of entitled *studies graduates in the USA and Russia is a stone's throw away, with all of its energy resources.
