They don't really need the McConnell Playbook if they have a majority in one legislative house, let alone both.

But if they're refusing to vote on nominees instead of having the guts to vote them down? Then never mind, you're spot on.

Hmm, but it sounds like they do have the guts. From skimming some news articles on Cullen, Hobbs gave up and withdrew her after the committee recommended she not be confirmed but the full Senate went ahead with a vote anyway.

I should note that the AZ GOP's majority in both chambers of the AZ State Legislature is narrow & sounds like the AZ Dems will be gunning to flipping both chambers in 2024 by giving Hobbs lot of room to legislate.

the replies are gold. like half are empty platitudes and the other half are calling her illegitimate. also what is this about a story involving her getting funding from the Sinaloa Cartels?

edit never mind looks more like a third but slightly focused to the top of the replies.
I've never even heard about rumors about Hobbs getting campaign funds from the Sinaloa Cartel & I'm hoping that rumor is FAKE NEWS.

I can understand hostility to Hobbs' administration & her policies, but escalating to the point of coming out of the woodwork with rumors like this ? Is this the best that the AZ GOP can do ? Once again, their majorities in both chambers of the AZ State Legislature are regressing & narrow. I wouldn't be shocked IF the AZ Dems (assuming they can get their expletive together) flip both chambers of the State Legislature & win some statewide offices along the way.

the accusation is that there was an extensive money laundering operation involving fraudulent properties and deeds in the midwest. if the evidence is correct then there has been a lot of corruption and graft in Maricopa county since 2004. definitely needs more investigation though.

edit: for the record this is not just an accusation against Hobbs. it is an accusation against a multiple people in the county level government that they are assisting the cartel.

Looks like we'll be awaiting what WA St Governor Jay Inslee (D) will announce his political future following the end of the legislative session.

@Ixian I'm going out on a limb & boldly predict Inslee will NOT be seeking reelection to 4th term in 2024 & he'll endorse WA St State Attorney General Bob Ferguson (D) as his successor.
King County Executive Dow Constantine wonโ€™t run for WA governor
