Bit "edgy", but since it belongs here:

This is actually a very common feeling in computer classes of all kind, and programing classes. But sometimes you have to learn the fundamentals before you can create.

The fundamentals are that one is arranging bits of electricity in a pattern so that when other bits of electricity are fed in, they will come out in another pattern.

But nobody really needs to know about theoretical tape machines in order to learn to program.

Well, whatever it was, the Reddit mods removed it.

It was Bill Burr poking fun at how feminists constantly compare themselves to the top 20 percent of men, while ignoring the 80 percent whose lives are shit and not at all “privileged”. :cautious:

But yeah, had a feeling Reddit would taken it down myself. Didn’t expect to be so soon, though then again, I’m not a user or frequent visitor, so what do I know?

The worst part about programming classes is that they never taught me anything actually useful for programming.
Like for example... how to use svn or git

They just plain didn't use any of that ever. you sat down, wrote a program that does todays homework... eg "write a function in [language] that performs a selection sort". and then submitted it on a usb stick or via email.

The image in question is the fundamentals for low-level codebase optimizations mostly seen in compiler design and hardware design, though, not something remotely relevant to a video game developer these days. What is desired is the high-level application space, what academia obsesses over is the low-level theory work.

It would unironically be better to be getting lectures on whale-hunting Gatcha principals, because that comes up in game development.

What are the odds it gets taken down again, though?

Or, are the staff more “laid-back” in that space? Given they allow your r/ReactionaryPolitics subreddit in the first place, I’d assume the latter.

Meme got taken down by admins of the meme subreddit, not by Reddit staff. Considering that I am the only admin of the ReactionaryPolitics subreddit, it is unlikely to get taken down.

The only things I ever took down is outright promotion of Nazism - I really don't want a genocidal leftist ideology infiltrating my subreddit.

Well, what about promotion of communism? For obvious reasons, I doubt you’d have to worry about that as much — but then, there are also trolls who try to stir shit up, too, so I wasn’t sure if Stalinist apologia ever slips through every so often.
