There are ways to serve without doing so on the front lines. A lot of people who push the idea of military service as a requirement to vote seem to forget that, and think almost nothing of the importance of logistics.
I think you're missing the point.
We're not trying to get the military working with those extra people. We just want those pushing for war to have some 'Skin in the game'. Including women who have demanded all sorts of power without accepting the other side of those aspects of society.
So, yes, I do think that the senior media people, top buracrats, top politicans and feminist academics should be on the front line. It's not going to be
my war, after all.
I'm seriously starting to consider going back to old Nobles running nations. They had to fight to be respected. (I'm not considering it very hard, sure. But our elected leaders in gladitorial combat amuses the hell out of me!)
