Complaints about "reddit posting"

Over my visits to other websites I've seen repeated whining over the same topics; "SCP pride", "Gor", and so on, by the same people over nominally different discussions to farm PADs* from. It's tiring, I don't want to ceaselessly read the same comments over the course of months. I'm bringing this up because many of you are starting to lapse into just whining about Spacebattles...although I guess I'm doing that too. ANYway, if I wanted reasons to hate Whitehall I'd go to Whitehall. So my suggestion is to make a rule, even a soft one, against using commonly hated things to farm Likes. We don't need cyclical anti-whatever threads.

Yeah, you've got a point. The key to forming a stable new community is to not compulsively complain about the old community.

The thing is, I don't think I've ever seen a community that didn't have hot topics like that, and I'm not sure how to legislate against it without banning discussion of certain topics entirely. Which doesn't mesh well with this forum's free speech ethos.

Hopefully as more members join with less connection to SB than we have, bitching about SB/WH will be a less productive avenue for likefarming.
