Isn't North Korea in the brink of another famine as well? I recall that in late-2020 and early-2021 there were speeches in the WPK assembly that basically amounted to 'prepare your anus' when you translated the jargon into normal language - basically, they were announcing that NK had had a crop failure.

It might be a little bit better from a humanitarian perspective if China just annexes North Korea, but I'm not sure if the CCP would do that in the first place since North Korea functions as a buffer state. Don't want a US ally directly on your border. Also, China can funnel money through North Korea, so keeping that state alive is convenient.

Then again, given how the CCP treats other people they annex, maybe the people of NK wouldn't be any better off.

I think it was as an olive branch to the Norks and CCP at some point.

Cool, now I have a fandom explanation for why all the Romulans have the exact same haircut. :giggle:
If Romulans were lead by Kim family, they would never conqer anybody.Becouse Kim family are good only at killing their own people, not fighting others.

The US and South Korea are teaming up in a technology rollout.

The Register said:
US President Biden and South Korean President Moon met at a summit last weekend and among the joint initiatives agreed on was developing “a future-oriented partnership by leading innovation” on quantum tech, plus AI, 5G and 6G, open-RAN, and clean energy tech.”

Details mum at the moment but we'll see the juicy developments in the future I suppose.

North Korea doesn't seem to be a fan of South Korean getting to extend the range of the missiles in its possession and putting an end to the US guidelines that limited South Korean missiles to a 500 mile or 800 kilometer range.

North Korean hackers have stolen over 300 million dollars to fund their nuclear weapons program in 2020.

But don't worry this is an improvement over 2019 when it was reckoned their hackers stole about two billion.
Sad that trump allowed something like that.

Oh shit... the Libs got us on this one...

Fox News said:
The dictatorship has continued to defy U.N. sanctions by modernizing its nuclear program and hacking U.N. financial institutions and virtual currency exchange houses to finance its efforts to develop weapons, experts said.

Hackers' efforts to attack U.N. financial systems continued into 2020.
The efforts have allowed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to access fissile material — an essential ingredient for producing nuclear weapons — and maintain the nation's nuclear facilities.

How is it Trump's fault? North Korea was actually being a decent country to the world until 2020 and the pandemic
No they fucking weren't. The DPRK hasn't been a decent country to anyone at all since the armistice, except maybe China. The very post I was responding to was talking about how they were stealing money before 2020.

So, Trump allowed years of something, but Biden not solving it in months when he inherited the problem means it's his fault?

Honestly, I've got no love for Biden either. From my PoV, it's America's fault that they apparently can't stop accidentally funding evil dictatorships and their nuclear programs under any administration.

You have no idea what has gone on in the DPRK last year.
I do.
Up until the pandemic and may of last year, and November was even worse, the country was holding back from doing various things.
Hell, they didn't launch a missle in all of 2018, when things settled down some.
Obviously though Trump just caused them to get worse.
Biden will be harder! Just like Obama was! Oh wait..

2018 was 3 years ago dumb ass. They conducted plenty of tests in 2019, and only slowed down slightly in 2020 because the technology is proven and they only need to carry out "tests" to remind people of it. Trump didn't halt their missile production, he didn't halt production of weapons grade materials. He didn't reduce their launch capabilities, or their number of warheads. He did nothing to reduce the nuclear threat of the DPRK, except possibly reducing the risk when he cut down his personal insults of their leader in public.

Okay. Megadeath.
Have you ever been to Korea? Were you there during last year watching what was going on?
No? Exactly.

One needs to notice something about the speech KJU made in October of last year at the 75th anniversary of the party there.
He never calls for death tk America. He focuses on domestic issues, and fighting to better his country.
Why? Because he knows Trump wouldn't play around, and if he was willing to cross into North Korea to meet with KJU, he isn't scared kf doing worse.

Now, what exactly can we do to North Korea? We already have tons of sanctions.
They do not get anything legally there.
What else could Trump have done instead of try peace?

Where in the post OF MINE did I blame Biden or Trump for anything? This was my post:

This is a Best Korean News thread... that was news pertaining to Best Korea. You decided to use my post to enter this thread solely to act inflammatory and bait posters and insert Trump into the discussion when the post you QUOTED of me didn't mention anything about either of them.

I understand you need a safe space to engage in trolling because your a moderator on Spacebattles and can't post with your pants off there but this is just sad.

Uh... Let go back, shall we? It was reported that DPRK stole millions to fund their nuclear weapons recently, compared to billions under trump. You said it wasn't his fault because they were acting "decently" which is an odd way to characterise billions of dollars worth of theft. What could trump have done differently? Well, apparently Biden was supposed to cut that theft down even more, so it would have been nice if trump could have convinced his good friend to stop stealing.

Really? Am I still a mod? Look up my most recent post, and feel free to share the date with us all.

As to the actual point, the replies I've gotten so far would certainly seem to suggest I'm not the only one viewing things through a partisan lenses. If I'm the first to say that a particular political party or individual fucked up in a politics thread, is that an issue to you? Is there some other thread I should confine all criticism of Trump to? Or, perhaps when information comes up in a politics thread that shows a politician shit the bed, it's appropriate to call them out for it.
