The entire Middle East is so fluid that there are barely any real set borders. Oh, and war is so commonplace that it's routine... and that is before we get into some genocide implications.

That is not the case. The USSR only backed the creation of Israel just so they can literally dump all their jews into the new state. Nothing more, nothing less.
Israel didn't have any real support until Suez was disrupted when Egypt and Israel went to blows for the final time (and the US literally started bribing both Israel and Egypt with oodles of cash to keep that from happening again). If anything, Israel kept getting shafted by pretty much everyone until that point.

I'm fine as long as there weren't any children or people in the school when it was bombed.

I'm fine with blowing up a school that's empty in a war, but I don't like kids getting killed, even if I recognise the need.
Well, seems like your demand that kids never be killed contradicts my demand that me and my family and loved ones never be killed.
How about the military of your own country sends some forces over into Gaza the next time hostilities erupt with Israel, show us Jews how to handle a "humane" war?
