"Woke" Franchises

Looks like race hustler Te-Nihisi Coates is taking full advantage of his comic writing career by not so subtly having the Red Skull adopt Jordan Peterson talking points and philosophy.

Reminds me of this

I think there was another comic of them having Red Skull make an argument to Cap about this not being the America he fought for, and accidentally having him make a bit too much sense.

I wonder....

I just had a thought. Recall the drive by the woke to have villains who are pathetic losers of one stripe of another, usually with the justification that, if they don’t, kids will think the baddies are cool (possible) and thus grow up to be like them (not likely).

Given that there are incidents in various Woke/SJW stories where the villains on occasion make a little too much sense or present some actual good points, I wonder if the two might not be a coincidence.

Either the woke crowd started making their villains pathetic after accidentally giving them good points one time too many- thus making sure that it doesn't happen again.

Or, alternatively, this is being done as a sort of countermeasure.

In that, the woke crowd can have their baddies unintentionally make good points on occasion by accident, but because said antagonists are so pathetic it’ll be easy for the consumer to just dismiss those points out of hand. Both while consuming this woke propaganda and if they come across someone making similar points elsewhere in the real world.

No, they really are that detached from reality. These are people who think trailer park whites who wandered into the congress after having the door opened for them are a bigger threat to the country than the plutocrats. The people who think some youtubers who dont like starwars are bullying one of the largest corporations on earth.

I disagree, because they are essentially correct, insofar as by "country" we understand they mean "Our Democracy (tm)," the system of bureaucracies (both corporate and political) that are in power and their beneficiaries. Jeff Bezos etc. represents no more threat to the average congresscritter than he does to his employees.

When you're own position is rather extreme, it can be difficult to recognize where "moderate" really lies, and you run the risk of putting a moderate and reasonable viewpoint in the mouth of your villain because moderates appear extreme to you. It doesn't help that, as I've said before, the biggest threat to an extremist party isn't usually the opposite extreme, who will never attract away their voters, but the moderate position that can peel away all the reasonable ones and gut the extremist position's base. This causes extremists to often put extra effort into trying to villify moderate positions (like reacting to "Both sides" like it's their kryptonite), which can seriously backfire in cases like this where they misjudge due to also not understanding where the center really is.

So apparently, Pepe Le Pew's only crime was giving Hollywood blue balls; why else would they remove him, but include characters who actually did rape people?

If you want to criticize the character for leaving the spirit portals open, sure, go ahead, that's a legitimate point to criticize her over (although I'm not seeing much of a "rampage" three years later, if anything the spirits are really standoffish).
Honestly, with the Spirits, it may take a long while but I think even they can eventually get along with the humans

Start with an equivalent of “no jaywalking” so they don’t block this “new invention” called “cars” that’s around
Jaywalking is irreverent, the portals between the physical and spirit worlds being open is unjustifiable for one reason and its name is Koh. Keeping Koh contained in a separate dimension isn't ideal, insofar as there's some chance Koh could escape, but much better than the alternative where it could come scuttling out of one of the polar portals any time it likes.

Not to mention the general contempt they treated all humans with back when the portals were open, to the point almost all the planet was completely uninhabitable for them because the spirits made the environment so hostile.

It vaguely reminds me of Star Trek Discovery and the "Remain Klingon" thing.
I got through the 1st episode of STD. The Klingons were badly designed by the makeup department, but everything else about them was incredible. Beware those who say they come in peace indeed!
Yeah, that's always worth a laugh when the wokeist hijackers' lack of familiarity with the source material of an established setting accidentally makes their caricatures right. For another example from STD, Captain Lorca's speech in What’s Past is Prologue when he calls out Emperor Mirrorverse Georgiou as insufficiently xenophobic and therefore a threat to the Empire's continual dominance. However, we know how it all ends and he turns out to have been completely right, if the Terran Empire had been a bit more xenophobic, remaining Fanatical Purifiers rather than Hegemonic Imperialists and not allowed a certain vulcan hybrid into the Imperial Starfleet and later to become Emperor and institute reforms defanging the Empire, they wouldn't have been destroyed and humanity enslaved.
Anyone mentioned Zoo yet?
It was so Woke that it couldn't find its own backside.

(Just imagine PETA: The Series!)
Wasn't that the show which was essentially, SCP-1100, the series, only due to bad writing, the 'heroes' are the ones who want to betray humanity and make a genophage and the 'villains' are the ones who want to exterminate the infested biosphere and restart from cloned samples. Also for some reason, probably being more photogenic, predatory macrofauna turned hyperaggressive yet still vulnerable to bullets and reproducing at regular rates is treated as a greater threat than say, giant swarms of smaller species wrecking infrastructure and crops.
