Mate, scaling was introduced in HW2 Original, the remaster didn't really tune it any worse at all.

I think there's also a couple areas in HW1/C which scale, but not to a comical degree.

It wasn't as retarded as it is in the remaster, I could reliably beat the game without things getting crazy but in the remaster shit is insane and you might as well just delete your fleet at the end of every level.

I assure you, the original's scaling was just as bad as the remaster. Several missions become borderline impossible if you enter them with a maxxed out fleet (particularly the warpgate one and the one afterwards)

In the original game, Makaan will spam you with like 8 battlecruisers and even more shit, whereas you can get 2 tops.

I do remember the last level where you have to destroy the planet killers being an absolute bitch

See, weirdly enough that mission was never bothersome for me because it ends up just being a 'warp Sajuuk around the map' level, and the misssiles can be dealt with, with a couple interceptors.

I haven't played the campaign in a long time but I think my problem was that I hadn't built enough interceptors because I lost most of them in the previous map and went into the final without enough because I was confident that my battle cruisers could handle everything. I had managed to build 4.

Gearbox has officially entered damage-control mode and has unleashed the bot hordes. Dead Internet Theory gains more evidence every day.

So what exactly is the issues with HW3? I did read the plot synopsis and wasn't particularly impressed by it but I was wondering if they fucked up the gameplay or not.

Game is a fucking nightmare ranging from non-projectile damage methods, to messed up fighter AI/formations, capital ships being made from paper, campaign balance just being "ENEMY THROWS ALL THE SHIT AT YOU!", limited unit roster which feels like many were cut for DLC, and the final boss gets to live because she's a woman.

Yeah, remember how we kill the emperor? The Beast? Makaan? The cultist dude in DoK? Well because the new one is a WAHMEN, she gets to live, despite fucking killing billions of people.
