Fallout Fallout General Thread - War, War Never Changes. Nor do game engines.

Somehow multiple BoS members in T-51b got killed in The Glow, despite the only threats present being armed with assault rifles, sniper rifles and the occasional shotgun.

Maybe the robots with supernatural accuracy targeted the joints? It mentions somebody's arm flew off with burning flesh, maybe a plasma hit?

The Ancient Brotherhood Holodisk also mentioned that they were cut to ribbons and had never seen weapons cut through armor like that. Which would make little sense unless assault rifles, sniper rifles and the occasional shotgun are weapons military soldiers have never encountered before.

It's more telling that you can see in the wall lockers on the fifth/last level are an array of plasma and pulse grenades as well as laser and plasma weapons, and miniguns and rocket launchers/missiles etc.

So while the gameplay might show one thing, the lore from the holodisk could indicate otherwise.

That's an in-universe pulp comic tho, probably made by somebody who only heard descriptions of PA. ;)
Nope, it's basically a teaser for FO2, it was supposed to be an event where you fight lobotomites with a BoS member saving you from them.
Edit: So it wouldn't make any sense for a pre-war depiction of BoS.

I still don't think it's supposed to be man Portable if the arguement is primarily supposed to be in game inventory.

🤷 That's like saying you have infinite strength in Fallout because you can carry an infinite amount of weight without your legs crushing underneath it all it does is make you move slower.

Not to mention that this idea of PA being just a Silver Surfer bodysuit is incredibly lame.
Hey it worked well for the nanosuit.

I wonder how many Pre-War soldiers in T-51B armor to take out a Nano Suit soldier?
I feel like the armor will make it difficult for the Nano Soldier to quickly dispatch them (Death Claws can toss cars and the Deathclaw animation indicates it can resist that level of strength to a degree.)

We also know T-51B can have recon sensors and would be expected to know how to deal with cloaked enemies. There's also the energy weapons which should wear down the Nano Suit.

I feel like a squad of 10-12 Power Armor users can take one down.

Nobody said that though, the arms have visible frames to boost strength on them, which presumably can have plates attached to them. The ingame sprite lacks these for simplicity and readability purposes.

Same reason why your head is magically shrunken when you wear combat armor ingame.

Another issue with power armor as FO4 depicts it, is user size, it has no flexibility for particularly tall or short characters. Not great for roleplaying purposes and incredibly silly if it's actually for military service. If it's a more advanced 'suit' you have to put on, you could assume it has parts enabling the limb parts to be a bit longer/shorter, adjustable hydraulics and whatnot. But as FO4 presents it, somebody with shorter arms won't actually fit the arm joints, or reach the 'hand manipulator controls'. Likewise for the legs.
It'd just uhhh, crunch your arms/legs to bits. Oops.

New playthrough of FO2 is going really well. Basically made a build that is non-viable for combat, so I had to rely on Sulik for the heavy lifting most of the time.

But now I have myself a Bozar, 194% big guns skill, and a dream.

Once I get sniper and the more-shots perk, I will be indestructible.

So Fallout 4 What If...

What if you put Curie into a Synthetic Body, does that make your Son, Father, also your Father-in-Law?

Meanwhile if you adopt Synth/Clone Shawn, does that make you the Father, or your biological Son. the Father, the Father. Or are you just the Stepfather of your Son, the Fathers, artificial Son.

Lemme know in the comments.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd beat FO2 with the big guns build, woo! Its actually surprising how far you can get into the game with minimal combat skills.
